Information regarding AAHRPP Accreditation and GRU

Effective January 8, 2013, Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) and Augusta State University (ASU) have consolidated into a new university, Georgia Regents University.  The human research protection program (HRPP) at GRU Health Sciences Campus (formerly known as Georgia Health Sciences University) is currently accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). The HRPP consolidation implementation process for GRU will continue over the next 6-9 months.  Each measure of the HRPP will continue to be evaluated to ensure compliance and adherence to the standards and guidelines of AAHRPP as well as all applicable regulations, laws, and policies.  AAHRPP will review the consolidation plan and new policies pertinent to the new Social/Behavioral Institutional Review Board and provide guidance regarding the timeline for accreditation of GRU.
