Oral Health Materials

Colgate knows how important it is for preschoolers to learn about good oral hygiene.  Preschoolers are learning valuable skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.  The Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Future dental health website has lots of great resources available at no cost to you - and they are a great supplement to your preschool .

Find wonderful ideas and teaching aids to help you create preschool lesson plans.  Preschoolers will be excited to learn about dental hygiene with the fun activities and hand-outs that are included.

Social Skills and Emotional Competencies

Find ideas for increasing children's opportunities to practice social skills and emotional competencies at the Center for Early Childhood Mental Health.

The ideas/strategies are available in a variety of formats and are organized by the type of skill htat would be targeted when using hte strategy:  emotions, friendship skills, problem solving, and handling anger an dother difficult emotions.

Developmental and Social-Emotional Screening of Young Children

The Child Care Resource & Referral Agency (CCR&R) works hand in hand with parents and child care providers to ensure that children are in safe, high quality early learning environments. In addition to advocacy, the CCR&R provides direct services to parents and providers in a 27-county service area.

Serving the following counties:

Baldwin, Bibb, Butts, Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Glascock, Greene, Hancock, Heard, Henry, Jasper, Jefferson, Jones, Lamar, McDuffie, Monroe, Newton, Pike, Putnam, Rockdale, Spalding, Taliaferro, Twiggs, Warren, Washington & Wilkinson

Funding

The Child Care Resource and Referral is funded, in part, by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning through the Federal Child Care Development Block Grant.

Bright Start Responsible for registering/licensing all child care programs in the state of Georgia and investigating any complaints filed by the community. Visit this site to learn more about their services or to download a complete copy of the rules and regulations governing child care programs.

Public Hearings on the Child Care Development Fund State Plan

Come join us and let your voice be heard

Bright From the Start, Department of Early Care and Learning and The Georgia Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies will hold public hearings regarding the Child Care and Development Fund State Plan.  The fund is issued for the purpose of increasing the availability, affordability and quality of child care services.

The state explains how funds will be used to help: low income, working families find and pay for child care; and to enhance the quality and availability of child care in Georgia.
