The Col. Vera Nolfe Anderson Army Nursing Scholarship Endowment was established in memory and honor of Col. Anderson and her dedication to army nursing. The endowment provides a scholarship to a nursing student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. One scholarship awarded each semester - $3000 (fall) and $3000 (spring).

Application Information

Selection will be determined by the College of Nursing Scholarship Committee based on this priority:

1. To an active duty Army nurse pursuing any nursing degree.
2. To an active duty military nurse pursuing any nursing degree.
3. To a retired Army nurse pursuing any nursing degree.
4. To a retired military nurse pursuing any nursing degree.
5. To a student from an active duty military family who is pursuing any nursing degree.
6. To a student from a retired military family who is pursuing any nursing degree.

Scholarship applicants must:

1. Submit three recommendations from faculty members using the Scholarship Recommendation Cover Sheet and Scholarship Recommendation Form.
2. Enclose a sealed copy of your most recent GRU transcript (will be pulled by the College of Nursing Student Affairs Office).  
3. Enclose a copy of all clinical evaluations (will be pulled by the College of Nursing Student Affairs Office).
4. Submit a resume demonstrating leadership abilities, listing accomplishments, honors and awards.

Submit a paper discussing the following:

• How the military has affected your life and nursing career
• Your leadership potential
• What you hope to accomplish with your nursing degree
