PC/Mac Minimum Specifications

Dell is the manufacturer of choice for all GHSU PCs. All requests for PCs other than Dell will require justification for the exception. Approved Dell business class models are Latitude, Optiplex, and Precision. All PC's must meet the minimum standards listed in the chart below.

Additionally, any requests for computers with specifications below the listed standards will require an exception justification. Exceptions will be requested by completing Exceptions Request Form (1 page PDF form).

  • The PC Standards Committee meets annually to review and update the GHSU PC Standards.
  • Standard Configuration includes choice of chassis (I.E., Minitower, Small form factor, etc.
  • GHSU PC standards require enterprise business-class models Home use and small business class computers such as the Inspiron, XPS, and Vostro are not supported by GHSU.
  • PCs should be refreshed every three to five years depending on the type of use
