The Department of Endodontics educates and trains
the predoctoral and postgraduate students in the art and
science of endodontics. Endodontics is that specialty
within dentistry concerned with the morphology, physiology
and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradicular
tissues. Its study and practice encompass the basic
clinical sciences including biology of the normal pulp; the
etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases
and injuries of the pulp and associated periradicular
conditions.
In addition to student education, the Department of Endodontics is committed to patient care, research and community service. Through continuing education programs the Department of Endodontics provides advanced knowledge to local, national and international communities.
