Among the researchers at the Cancer Center are three groups: basic scientists, translational
researchers and clinical researchers. The basic scientists compare normal and abnormal
cells, identifying and validating targets for drug intervention in vitro and in animal
models. Translational researchers look for new investigational drugs and design human
trials. The clinical researchers conduct Phase I, II and III trials with patients.
These scientists and physician scientists work collaboratively.
