Welcome to the Physician Assistant Department!

The Physician Assistant, working with physicians and other health professionals, performs many clinical functions that enable the physician to devote more time to duties requiring his particular knowledge and skill.

In most clinical settings, the Physician Assistant has their own patient load and obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, orders and interprets laboratory results and other information and assesses and treats common illnesses, including writing prescriptions. Disease prevention and health promotion activities, counseling and patient education are other important services provided. Physician Assistants can specialize in virtually any health care field.

		Our online application for entrance into our program in May 2014 should open up July 1, 2013 with a deadline of Oct 15, 2013 to have ALL materials into the Office of Academic Admissions. Students applying to a graduate program requiring the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) need to take the exam BEFORE AUGUST 1, 2013 in order for the scores to be received by GRU before the program application deadline, if applicable.
