Welcome to the Dental Hygiene Program!

Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) are credentialed and licensed health professionals who serve integral roles in the delivery of oral health care.

Graduates of the GHSU Dental Hygiene undergraduate BS-DH program serve the private sector and community through employment in general and specialized dental practices, in government clinics, and in public health agencies.

Dental Hygienists who pursue the graduate MS-AH degree are afforded opportunities beyond clinical practice which may include employment in academia, research, and corporate settings.

It's A Fact Dental Hygiene is a career that has it all! Georgia Workforce 2014 has given Dental Hygienists the "" label for "fast growing, high-paying and expected to offer plentiful job openings over the projected period."

Note: Job availability is greater in rural areas and in areas that are not adjacent to dental

hygiene programs. Pay rate varies depending on practice setting.
